Sun Fire V890, "Last TrapData Access Error" during POST

Hi all,

I'm seeing a wierd problem on a new v890 server...

I've installed a FCAL dual channel HBA in slot 8, and during boot, it reports error:

ERROR: /pci@9,600000/pci@1/<Unnamed>: Last Trap: Data Access Error

Error -256

Dictionary overflow - here f00f7184 limit f0400000

After this error it then disables the boot command and the server cannot be booted even though the disks are connected on internal FCAL controller.

If the same card is installed in another slot either than slot 7 or 8, the server boots fine, no errors and the card can be seen from both OBP and OS. I've tested another card, replaced the I/O board, updated the OBP version to latest, but still problem persists. I've also tested the same config in another server, and it works fine in all slots.

Has anyone seen a similar problem before?

Thanks,

Sane.

Hello Sane,I'm seeing a wierd problem on a new v890 server...Record the current OBP settings, then issue set-defaults.If the problem persists, open a service case.Michael
