Really New To java

Hi,

I need a few pointers in the right direction please. The company i work for insists i learn java and have signed me up for a set of tutorials.

What i need to know is what program do i need where i can start writing java programs from the tutorials.

If so one could tell me what programs or anything else i might need that would be a great help. Thanks.

No, you don't need it, and most people here (not counting embla) would advise you to start by *not* using an IDE. Any good text editor is sufficient, and even every bad text editor does the job. All you need is the JDK.
