Java animation stopped working on my iMac

There's a website that displays the time using Java animation. It used to work for me; now it doesn't. Instead of displaying the time, it shows a coffee cup bordered by 2 curved arrows. The website is http://nist.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java. My computer is a new 17" iMac running OS-X version 10.4.8, and I've downloaded the most recent Java update. How do I get Java animation to work for me again on this website? Thanks.

maybe your browser has java turned off (see preferences), or maybe you should change the PATH to the JRE manually (in linux I have to do this, not so experienced though)
