Mail body modification when sending to group.

Hi

I have a problem when users send emails to groups, in that the body of the email gets modified with the addition of ANYONE at the bottom.

i.e. the body of a blank email when received becomes:

ANYONE

After playing around it would appear that the value ANYONE is being pulled from the LDAP attribute mgmanMemberVisibility, as when this value gets changed - the email body modification changes appropriately.

The email group was created using Delegated Administrator 6.3-2.02 and contains the following attributes:

dn: cn=FDSTESTGROUP,ou=Groups,o=robresint.co.uk,o=root

objectClass: iplanet-am-managed-group

objectClass: inetlocalmailrecipient

objectClass: inetmailgroupmanagement

objectClass: ipgroup

objectClass: top

objectClass: iplanet-am-managed-static-group

objectClass: inetmailgroup

objectClass: groupofuniquenames

mgmanMemberVisibility: ANYONE

mgmanJoinability: NONE

mgmanHidden: no

cn: FDSTESTGROUP

mailDeliveryOption: members

inetCOS: frl_mail_calendar_group

mail: fdstestgroup@fugro-data.com

uniqueMember: uid=tpp,ou=People,o=robresint.co.uk,o=root

mailHost: starbuck.robresint.co.uk

inetMailGroupStatus: active

businessCategory: FRL

o: FRL

iplanet-am-group-subscribable: false

The mail server version is:

Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-8.02 (built Dec 21 2006)

libimta.so 6.2-8.02 (built 11:35:47, Dec 21 2006)

SunOS starbuck 5.10 Generic_118833-24 sun4v sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-T200

We have not changed any of the config to use a conversion channel, and checking the mail server config the conversion file does not exist ( as referenced by the imta_tailor file )

Any ideas would be most welcome.

Cheers

Hi,Known problem, log a sun support case and get a copy of the patch for messaging server which fixes bug #6522659 - mgrpMsgPrefixText being appended to Subject header (fix for this has the same root cause as the problem you describe).Regards,Shane.
