Stopping Telemetry

I turned on telemetry months ago. I believe simply by adding a directory /var/opt/SUNWmsgsr/telemetry/imap/$USERNAME and bouncing the mail server. I found the issue and fixed it. But forgot about the directory. It is now almost 1gig. I believe that just removing the directory will stop telemetry for that user, and this does not require bouncing the server. Can anyone confirm that or tell me where I am wrong?
