Corect.
@puce: check this thread http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=746174 and hoover over the image in reply #139 to see the url being created by clicking it. Needless to say: do NOT click the link or you will post a message with "teh codez plz" in the body.

I'm pretty sure George knew that: he also meant it as a joke.
If someone forgets to take medication that enables him/her to remember things better, how is that person able to remember the fact s/he forgot to take them?

Hmm, but I as far as I can remember, I didn't cross-post at that time. Well, never mind! :-)

You know, when USENET started up it was designed to facilitate cross posting. Cross posting, within reason, actually makes a lot of sense. A post may connect several topics. It may make sense to post something both on a specialised, and a less specialised forum. Ideally you'd like it answered by a specialist, but it's OK if it's answered by someone who just happens to know.
Cross posting was given a bad name by spammers, who simply blasted every group on the list.
Spammers, of course, effectively destroyed USENET, which is the only reason why forums like this are worth while, but the whole point of moderated forums is that they largely prevent spam.

That's right - each post had a list of groups it appeared on and replies, by default, copied the list from the original.
I still think this is a sensible arrangement.
