Help with mobile cellphone

hello guys,

i am planning to create a server that receives and sends sms (using a mobile phone simulator). Together with the receiving and sending of messages, the server will also perform other sms-related functions.

Here are my concerns:

1. Is the J2SE sufficient to develop this kind of system?

2. What should I use as a mobile phone simulator? Are there existing simulators available on the net?
