Is it me; or is netbeans getting a bit flakey of late?

There are a couple of code completion bugs in 5.5 which drive me absolutely nuts. I've submitted these and fixes have been written. The trouble is, getting them.

I've been trying with the M6 development release. But that's missing most of the refactoring tools.

I've just downloaded 5.5.1beta, which seems OK until I made the mistake of downloading the UML tools stuff, now that's gone nuts and I'll probably have to re-install. OK, so maybe that's the price you pay for "beta".

I'm starting to think seriously about Eclipse.

I had a brief play with Ecplise yesterday, and though it warants longer experimentation, it seems a little wobbly too. For example I installed the web app stuff, but then when I used the module download thingy to add some more options all the J2EE stuff mysteriously disappeared. And the free EJB stuff seems to be stuck at EJB-2.
