wireless zero configuration - win api

Hi guys, I'm starting to develop with java. I have a question to start a project. Is there any way of access the wireless card of my laptop building a desktop application? Is possible to invoke from j2ee the win api or the wireless lan api?Thanks,
Don't know about "possible". Maybe with JNI. But from J2EE? Sounds like a really inappropriate design.
