Error message when accessing calendar using Thunderbird Lightning with WCAP

Hi,

I have the problem that I installed Thunderbird Lightning and I wanted to set it up to access my calendar (my company uses Sun Java Communications Express). I installed the proper Lightning version with WCAP support but I still can't get the things work.

When I want to acces my calendar through Lightning I get the following error messages:

"Calendar is read only" - when I want to add a new event or task to the calendar in Lightning, even if I remove the tick from the read-only box in properties

or

"Error: 0x80004005

Description: Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsISimpleEnumerator.getNext]" - when I click on my calendar name (when opening) in Lightning

I would appreciate any help that could resolve the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Firstly I should point out that the lightning plug-in is in a state of flux, it is very much in it's early days so there is a battle between stability and features. I know the developers inside of Sun are working through new bugs all the time so if you do hit a bug, please always try the latest version to see if it still exists.

The latest version of the lightning plugin (with WCAP) can be found at:

http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/releases/0.3.1rc 2/lightning-wcap/

Try downloading/upgrading to this release and see if the problem persists.

Regards,

Shane.

We have thunderbird with lightning running against Sun Messenger, Calendar server and Global Address List.

Try the following link, it's pretty good.

http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:WCAP_Guide

By the way, Outlook Connector is a pain in the... thunderbird/lightning is WAY more solid - Even at a 0.3 release level.
