3510 FC array multi-host access

Hello FC folks,

Have been completely unable to find an answer on the web

to this question regarding the 3510 FC array...

Can 2 Sun Sparc hosts, running Solaris 10 11/06, both direct attached,

safely, mount/access the same LUN ?

Know you can have hosts mount independent LUN's. Aware of LUN

masking, which limits who sees a LUN.

We have 2 machines side-by-side. Seems silly to use NFS to access

file on sibling machine.

Apoligize if this seems like a stupid question, but I can't confirm an

answer anywhere.

Really appreciate your help!

Hello,AFAIK, two hosts can mount the same LUN but proper access on file level should be regulated (controlled) by special filesystem, e.g. SAM/Q-FS.You won't be able to use UFS in this situation.Regards, bagio
