Check to see if patch 118833-36 is installed. This is the latest kernel patch and in most instances will not install via Update Manager due to the patch being marked as "interactive." By default, Update Manager will not allow "interactive" patches to be installed. I suspect that the reason you get a number of failures is that they all rely on 118833-36. I saw that on several of the machines I have. Once I installed 118336-36 manually, all the ones that depended on this patch worked fine.
One last thing, there is a bug where in some instances, Update Manager will allow 118833-36 to be installed by the automated patching tools rather than prohibiting installation. Sun is aware of this and is working on a fix.

Got the patch number mixed up... It should be 118833-36.

Hi Bryan,
I think you menat 118833-36 that is the latest kernel patch fpr sparc. That is already installed (I did it manually because of problems). A 118336-30 I didn't find here.
It is also curios that if I start the Update Manager again and again that from time to time more and more patches are coming down correctly. But never all together as last week when I made a new Install on an other machine.
Until now ther are 2 patches open of 18 patches in the morning. Maybe the 2 will load til evening; but THAT is not normal. I don't understand what Sun is doing there (or doing nothing?).
I Have a service plan, I am paying and getting always trouble!?!?!? terrible.
Good Luck also at DoxBrian! Have you found something about 118336-30?

Are you talking to a local patch proxy, or directly to the sun servers.
If its a patch proxy then theres a known problem with that thats being worked on.
Temporary workaround
on patch proxy
patchsvr stop
find /usr/sadm/spool/patchsvr -size 0c | xargs rm
patchsvr start
Repeat whenever problem reappears.
I just tried to obtain activation for my first (and only) Net Connect Bundle.
The ./activate.sh fails on not finding ${VERSION} to be 001.002.005, but *heck*, the version of the Net Connect Bundle is 001.002.006 !! In spite of there being calls to "check_version" which checks for minimum version, that result is ignored and the execution continues with the above.
I am loathe to force the ./activate.sh to accept .006 because I don't have any idea if there is version specific crud in there.
Any ideas about who I should complain to?

Well, all the patches downloaded just fine last night on my SPARC box. Not sure what the problem was. Have only tested the "non-reboot" patches on my x64 boxen. They all worked fine on one. On the other, all worked except the "awk" patch. Update manager just stops responding when I try to install it (I let it sit for an hour)...
Yes Dox,
now it works here as well with x86-64 Boxes and my UltraSparcs.
I MUST have been a fault on Suns side. But why isn't there a status page or something like that to see if there are problems.
I was going to get crazy, while looking for the issue on my side :-(
