Sun Fire V120 LOM Access

Can someone please clear this up for me.

We've just bout a Sun Fire V120 and I'm desperatly trying to configure the LOM port so it can be accessed over the network.

I was under the impression that the LOM port could be used as a serial or ethernet port. Whilst at the lom> prompt I can 'set ip_address aa.bb.cc.dd' along with netmask and gateway, however this doesn't

The manual mentions LOM software which needs to be installed if Solaris is reinstalled, however the packages it talks about are not included in the media pack.

allow access over the network.

Can anyone confirm that the LOM port on the V120 is ethernet compatable and if so how do I configure it.

Hi Adrian, unfortunately, V120 has SERIAL console port, no possibilities to configure console port as ethernet, but you can support your V120 from other server that has rsc or ALOM on the network near your server thru regular serial console cable :)Marian
