netra x1 cant get to OK prompt

I've got a netra X1 that wont boot. I thought it might be a memory issue, but I've tried many sticks of sdram in many slots with no luck. Here is my log. I force a shutdown or else it just endlessly spits out these pstate things. Any recommendations?

I got the same thing when I installed more ram in my netra X1. It turned out that one of the ram modules was different from the rest.

Alright, thanks for the reply. I thought it might have been a memory issue. The only other place I could find the same problem is here:

http://www.sunmanagers.org/pipermail/summaries/2002-December/002863.html

and since it was shipped and booted by another admin, im guessing they put in different memory.

I tried a fair number of modules, but I'll keep trying others and see if I can get more. Maybe I'm just having bad luck.

Could this be an ECC / non ECC issue? I don't know too much about SDRAM, but I figured, if its 128MB 133MHz and it fits the slot it should work.

dont mix and match. use matched pairsdo use registered ECC or play with the jumpers.

shortly after posting that, I have managed to do exactly the same thing to a v100.

using the original memory it came with, that tested just fine in a t1 200.

so now we get to the "is the board scrap metal? or is it just pining for the fjords?"

I will echo what has already been said. That looks like a memory problem. For the x1s I've found the most reliable memory are PC133 buffered ECC DIMS. If you mix buffered and unbuffered memory you will get errors like what you are seeing.

The easiest way to trouble shoot this first try each module individually. If any one throws errors set it aside. Once you have tested each individually add them in in pairs and go from there.
