too many messages

Hi,

I am getting the following error in our mail.log_current on 'some' messages. Along with this some messages are sitting in the queue for hours and sometimes days, and sometimes even bounces. This mail server is a front end mta which pass mail to our baracuda spamfilter and then to our final messaging server.

Can i change the number of messages that ims tries to send at once?

Is there a default number of messages per session that I can set the spamfilter to accept?

Temporary error returned by SMTP partner. smtp;421 Error: too many messages in one session

I am also seeing the odd entry as follows in the same log.

RSET response expected

TCP active op

en: Failed connect()Error: Connection refused

Any ideas?

Darren

Having some experience with Barracuda boxes, have you tried whitelisting your email servers ipaddress?

I am fairly new to the Barracuda box. We are having problems for incoming email only. Wouldn't whitelisting render the box useless and allow all email from the front end mta's(all email) through?

We have a support case on this, now. For everybody reading, I've suggested creating a "channel option file", withATTEMPT_TRANSACTIONS_PER_SESSION=30 in it.

I reread your message and yes forget what I suggested earlier. It's been a long day. Jay's solution with the channel should work nicely, just check what your messages per session are in your barracuda configuration.
