DST

anyone patched for DST yet?

does the recommended cluster have everything?

i have seen this info:

Sun has patches out to reflect the DST changes in the US for Solaris 8, 9

and 10. The patches are:

sol8: 109809-02 or later and libc patch 108993-52 or later.

sol9: 113225-03 or later and libc patch 112874-33 or later.

sol10: 122032-01 or later and libc patch 119689-07 or later.

and for iMS specifically:

Application restart required for all products. Customer actions needed:

* Install all necessary OS patches to address the DST issue in the OS (Messaging)

* Java upgrades

http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Intl/USDST/

or use the tzupdater tool

http://java.sun.com/javase/tzupdater_README.html

to address DST issues. Also see Sun Alert for Java

http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-26-102760-1 .

* Restart the server

* Calendar Server specific: install applicable patch as noted or replace timezones.ics file (Windows/HPUX) and restart

can anyone provide a HOW-TO or synthesize the above to specifically prepare iMS for the new DST?

thanks,

s7

Messaging gets all the time information from the OS. Update the os with the patches. Update your Java vm with that patch. done.
