solaris patches

JayDoes Sun have any recommendation regarding OS patches applied to existing SunOne / SunJMS servers? Meaning is it OK to apply the Solaris10_Recommended set? Thanks

I apply the recommended patch cluster myself. The installer will demand a minimal set on install, but any recommended patch cluster should be fine.

iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 2.09110615-16 SunOS 5.8: sendmail patch111874-08 SunOS 5.8: usr/bin/mail patchI don't need to worry about these patches stepping on the iMS-supplied sendmail?

Well, for old 5.2 systems, you will find a link instead of sendmail. Messaging 5.2 used its' own "compatibility" binary. Those patches WILL break that.

I thought your question was about 6.2, where we don't actually change sendmail at all.

For 5.2, either don't apply sendmail patches, or re-link to the iPlanet provided binary after patching.
