A 'backspace' is character 8 in both unicode and ascii, so: \u0008

Posts don't mean a thing Yawmark. I have quite a lot, but in most cases, I don't know what I'm talking about!

; )

But I agree with you in this case.

Actually Yaw, If you look at his profile, a lot of his posts have been questions.

Furthermore, it would seem to me by his phrasing, lack of punctuation, and use of "danke" that English is not his first language. It's possible he tried Google already and couldn't find what he was looking for.

Yes, I know. I've answered some of them.

Are you seriously debating this? Sure, it's possible! It's also possible s/he didn't try at all. Given that this kind of information can be found with a trivial amount of effort (see link in reply #1), I'm inclined to believe it's the latter, but that's not really the point. If s/he can't find this kind of information, then I believe the more important issue is how the OP will to learn to use a search engine more effectively. It's a vital skill in the development arena.

If he had just put the title of the thread in, he could have found the answer.

Not really, but the way I see it, the purpose of this forum is to find answers to questions; mocking other people because they couldn't figure something out isn't productive behavior.

I disagree with you. There's far more to this forum than simply answering every odd question that gets posted. Nevertheless, I have provided the answer for this person, as I have done for other questions from the OP in the past. Thanks for letting me know that you don't like the way I did so, but I'm not overly concerned about that.

I think your sensitivity potentiometer is cranked a bit high. If, after nearly 500 posts, you would have asked a similar question that could be answered with a trivial amount of research (and I mean trivial), you'd likely get a similar response from a community that typically enjoys helping people develop good research habits. If you don't appreciate the way I've done that, that's perfectly fine. But I think your admonishments are misplaced, and so we'll probably just have to disagree.

Regards.

I agree, but even if this question is a bit trivial, you can be supportive (i.e. "Why don't you try searching for it on Google.") rather than sardonic.

Yes, I certainly can. I have done so in the past repeatedly for this user (see the links in reply #7 for some examples). I chose not to here. Once again, I appreciate what you're trying to say, but I disagree with your admonishments in this case.
