Action class

Hi,

I have recently started studying JEE

I stumbled upon such an configuration:

jsp-- java Action class --ejb--DAO--database

Now I've tried to understand what is a "action class" I searched google, but I couldn't find the answer.

Can you please give me a cloe, or a link to have a start point...
