java communication api

dear friends,

i am finding problem in using java communication api in window environment, actually i want to communicate with a point of sale device attached with communiction port (COM3) (with the help of USB to Serial port Connector). i downloaded the availabele api for generic use but it is not solved my problem.

if anybody have the solution then assist me.
