There is a variety of 32-bit smart card controllers from different vendors. I did not hear of any Java Card 2.2.2 implementation yet.Might I ask why you're looking for a 32 bit Java Card?

I guess for performance and security reason, for certain application such generate RSA key on card which take 8/16 bit card 10-20 seconds. 8/16 bit card is only good for patient training or paperweight here. Or for support RSA 4096 and high bit ECC.
BTW. I am wear IC vendor for 32bit card. but which one support Java?

patient training? paperweight?
I guess you conclude that a 8 or 16 bit controller has less computing power that a 32 bit one, but the bits mean only the address bus bandwidth.
There are techniques to extend the bandwidth. The SmartMX is an 8 bit controller, and could theoretically access only 256 bytes, but e.g. JCOP41/72 on SmartMX has 72k EEPROM.
So I doubt that that a 32 bit controller is automatically faster when it comes to crypto. You need more more versatile controller (be it a crypto co-processor, higher clock rate or more RAM to store and load the intermediate values faster), which means a higher price.

Here we mix address bus bandwidth and data bus bandwidth. In general 32 bit controller will beat 8 bit controller 400% if at same clock. This not even count RISC base, more RAM, new design...

I hope some one at forum could help on 32 bits Java Card vendors list.
I would like share odd one;-
Axalto/Gemalto Cryptoflex .net card:
1. 32 bits
2. .net VM
3. true Java card ( if you coding at J#)
4. in market a quite long
All the rest Java card we talk here is JC (Javacard API card) card, but one could code as pure Java

I don't think this one runs Java Card, but some J2ME technlogy (CDC or CDLC): http://www.gi-de.com/pls/portal/maia.display_custom_items.DOWNLOAD_SEEALSO_FILE?p_ID=5452

NXP PROX cards are dual interface cards. Is there a NXP (or even other vendors) JCOP card that does not have contactless interface?
# 9
Yes, NXP offers card with only contact interface:- JCOP 21-72/36/18 v2.2 (VGP config 3, 72/36/18k EEPROM)- JCOP S20-10 v2.2 (VGP config 2, 10k EEPROM)- JCOP S10-10 and 10-36 v2.2 (VGP config 1, 10k/36k EEPROM)

Sorry for pulling up yet another old thread, but I'm wondering if anyone knows any JC2.2.2 vendors as of today. I've been doing a bit of googling, but I can't seem to find any.

How lexdabear told me, there have been no Java Card 2.2.2 or GP 2.2.1 compliant Java Cards implemented yet.I have also been interested in any of those.Best regards,Eve

http://www.athena-scs.com/product.asp?pid=32Supports javacard 2.2.2.
# 13
Are u sure?It is only mentioned as optional... What does that suppose to mean?In the datasheet only java 2.2.1 is highlighted.Best regards,Eve

It means that you can get either 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 as per your requirements.

Hmmm... quitre interesting then...But the version of GP is still 2.1.1Thanks for the information. In case u will find anything else up to date, it would be great to know.Best regards,Eve
