Today, my local patch server clients are reporting things like this:

# smpatch analyze

When I run `smpatch download', I get this:

Update 123252-01 will not be downloaded since it already exists in the download directory.

Update 121677-04 will not be downloaded since it already exists in the download directory.

Update 121675-09 will not be downloaded since it already exists in the download directory.

The following patches were not downloaded:

119254-34: Unknown HTTP status code returned.

118833-36: Unknown HTTP status code returned.

...

124256-01: Unknown HTTP status code returned.

119201-20: Unknown HTTP status code returned.

What's going on? I haven't changed anything.

I was able to fix this by restarting the local patch server. Although the `requirementloop' messages persisted, the download was successful.

The circular dependancy of patch 118833-36 upon itself (for some hosts) returned by the analysis has been reported as bug 6520295 and may be due to the patch depending on another patch which it obsoletes. This should be due to be fixed in the patch metadata.
