Ultrasparc 60 makes clicking noise

When I try to turn on my Ultrasparc 60, it just makes a click noise that seems to be coming from the power supply, and nothing else happens. Do I have a bad power supply? If I do, can I use an ATX power supply with some sort of modification? Thanks

Yup. Power suppy has failed.

Nope, you can't replace it with one from a PeeCee.

A Sun Ultra-60 Workstation is NOT a PeeCee.

If this is a personal system, and not one with coverage

under a service contract, then go get a used replacement.

Try an online auction web site, such as Ebay.

It may actually be advisable to get a complete U-60 on Ebay

instead of just a solitary power supply.

I just took a quick peek at Ebay...power supplies for $20.

complete systems for $100.

How many spare parts would be available from a complete replacement?

You decide.
