Adding a new server instance fail with a Error message

I have problem with adding server instance. Admin server was correctly installed and configured but when I try to add server instance, it fails and this error message popup: "File System Error: Server core is not installed"

Solaris 10, Webserver 6.1 SP5

Does anybody has any idea?

Thank you

Peter

Even in /opt/SUNWwbsvr/setup/setup.log is similar message: [07/01/04:10:10:20] - [Setup] Warning Failure installing Server CoreI have no idea what does it mean.Petr

well, the error says exactly what you are encountering - unable to install the server instance. now, we all wish the error message is improved to give an insight as to what causes installlation failure. i guess, we need to file a bug against the installer so that we can trouble shoot this scenario.

fortunately, web server 7 (currently in Technology Preview) part of JES5 incorporates a better installer frame work and logging mechanism to trouble shoot this failed installation

couple of things I can think of for the failed installation

- lack of sufficient space

- some missing patches -

now, to clarify my doubts - are you using a JES installation or a non JES installation ? If you are using JES distribution * the most common installation location for this is /opt/SUNWwbsvr, then the jes installer should have ensured that you have no missing patches and have sufficient space to install

Thank you for your ideas.

At first, I have enough space for installation.

I use PS7.0Installer_SunOS_x86 installer and the installer says that I have no missing patches and enough space.

I have a suspicion there is some missing system package but now I haven't any idea how to find it out.
