DTU's won't connect to server

My sunray dtu's won't bring up a log in page. They come up and get an address that is being dhcp'd by the sunray server, connect to the server, show the paddalock, then go to the hourglass and sit there. I have tried issuing cold restarts and i get this on the console afterwards:

Jan 25 18:49:48 otq dtlogin[2226]: sunray_get_user:pam_sm_auth: pam_get_user returned 6 (PAM_CONV_ERR).

If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

I also got this shortly after a cold reset when I didn't even touch any of the dtu's or anything on the server:

Jan 25 18:54:55 otq dtlogin[4409]: sunray_get_user:isValidUsername: Invalid characters found in username: }N^[^]..lp

Jan 25 18:54:55 otq dtlogin[4409]: sunray_get_user:pam_sm_auth: Username validation failed: Error -1

What's the longest you've waited? On one of our older systems here, it took sitting at that hourglass for all day, plus who knows how long overnight before the sessions popped up. Now they're fine (even after a reboot), not sure what the delay was.

I let it go overnight. I believe I found part of the problem. I let the installer disable the network services. It now works when I have it in non-secure mode. But when I enable the security features in the admin console I get the same result as before.

I was wondering if you had gotten any feedback to your problem.

It was the fact that dtlogin had been shut off for anything other than disp 0. It was fixed by running netservices open
