run office from flash drive

IS IT POSSIBLE TO RUN STAROFFICE FROM A FLASH DRIVE?ESPECIALLY ON SOMEONE ELSE'S COMPUTER.(WINDOWS OS)THANKS VERY MUCH, WE AIN'T GOT MUCH SMARTS HERE IN ARKANSAS.

You can buy a flash drive that is U3 ready or install the U3 Launcher software on your flash drive and then download the version of OpenOffice for U3 from the software.u3.com. It isn't StarOffice, but you will have the currently version of OpenOffice to use in a mobile environment.

I finally had a chance to test SO8 from a Flash drive tonight and it worked.

First, first install Portable Open Office.

Second, overwrite the files in the Portable Open Office sub folder with the files from Star Office 8.

To start SO8 as a portable program, use the Portable Open Office loaders.
