As a shameless plug I want to at least highlight the deployment examples delivered with the Sun Cluster 3.2 version of the docs for this agent:

Specificly http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-3063/6n5ae9lvu?a=view is neat even for demonstartion purposes on a single node cluster that I currently use in order to show failover between non-global zones using a zpool (in my case residing on an usb stick :).

So it is used in production environments as well as for demo purposes and it works well.
