Updating my existent version of solaris 10 to include ZFS ?

Hi there,

I've tried to install the recommended update patch. Even /etc/release say that i have version "Solaris 10 1/06 s10s_u1wos_19a SPARC", but i don't have the zpool command anywhere on my disk.

Is there a way to upgrade my Solaris 10 like the Maintenance update we used with solaris 8 to include ZFS and the zpool command?

thanks,

Toasterz.

ZFS is included from Sol 10 11/06

you can just perform an upgrade from current Sol10 to 11/06

then you can create a zpool on a spare partition / disk / array, then create and allocate file systems to users and containers.

to move your current install to a ZFS filesystem is best avoided, but I have read that someone has done it by using dd !

hope this helps some.

I used LiveUpgrade (lucreate \ luupgrade\luactivate) in order to upgrade from solaris 10(3.05) to solaris 10(11.06).

the upgrade finished succesfully, but then I check zfs command like : zpool, zfs

the upgrade install me only the simbolik links /use/sbin/zpool but to the actual file that should be located on /sbin/zpool !?!?

do you know why?
