Sun V880 will not boot

Have tried everything I can think of to get her to boot. She'll power on and seem to wind everything up. All hardware devices show green. But still no OBP or any type of output. Any thoughts?

New system that you just acquired?

Old system that has been working for you?

What position is the keyswitch? (on DIAG, perhaps?)

Where are you connecting your console cable? TTYa?RSC?

Those may seem like small details, but they're important.

For example, if this is a new (refurbished) box that you've just received,

the OBP factory defaults are to boot in deep diagnostic mode which can

take as much as 30-45 minutes before you get any output.

Thanks

2 year old system that has been working fine as an oracle db server for the past year w/no problems. I've attempted just about every combination of keyswitch position and either monitor cable or console cable in any port. All with no real response. I'm going to try taking out peripherals and see if it'll boot beyond where I've been.

The unresponsiveness with this server will go on for hours. I've given it anywhere up to 3 hours to cycle through anything, but still with no luck.

thanks

Then open a suport case with Sun.The forums are NOT techsupport. This is simply a site for end-users to have conversations.
