Hard to know ! You didn't tell us the currently installed OBP revision.

what is the recommended way to do the upgrade to the OBP?

Just follow the instructions that come with the patches (E450 and E5500 are indeed separate patches).

In the past I had put much time into composing answers with clickable links, but as a prequisite reviewed the profile, the time of last login and if online "what people are doing" (these two features are unfortunately no longer available). People that don't provide feedback or just ask to offload work to others usually don't get an answer (from me). It's my choice and time.

how can I locate for the patch from SunSolave?

In one of your recent posts haroldb provided a clickable link to the [url=http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/

]Sun System Handbook [/url] (then just click on EOL Systems) to you. Did you even try to review these pages ?

Use these resources (Sun System Handbook, docs.sun.com, various User's Guides or Service Manuals, ...) ! If you need further advice, don't hesitate to ask.

In case this user-to-user help isn't suficient, get paid support.

Btw. why this unusual signature ? I asked via the Feedback Forum to remove my My Forums settings, because I inserted invalid information that wasn't trapped by the script "behind". There was no reaction at all.

Inserting this signatures takes me less time than sending a new Feedback Form.

Hello,

The current OBP version for the E5500 server is "3.2.30"

Is this the installed OBP or are you referring to the latest patch ?

103346-30 contains OBP_3.2.30,POST_3.9.30

Install the most current OBP/POST, each version fixes bugs or adds support for "new" devices.

There is no specific OBP version required for Solaris 10, but a minimum version for the 64-bit kernel (starting with Solaris 7).

For your convenience I have reviewed the Solaris 7 Sun Hardware Platform Guide. The minimum OBP revision that supports the 64-bit operation is 3.2.16 (for Sun Enterprise 3x00, 4x00, 5x00, and 6x00 Systems).

Actually this is the installed OBP and the installed POST is 3.9.30 ( on the two CPU/Memory boards).

This is already the latest version.Forgot to mention that Solaris 10 requires at least UltraSPARC II modules (as a rule of thumb these are 200MHz or faster).Michael- When will the deficencies/bugs in the Forums software be fixed ?
