Hi All,I would like to know whether the memory from Sun Fire V240 server (or any other like V440 etc. from entry level) will work/fit in Sun Fire V280R.Thanks.

No, they (F280R, V440) use completely different types of memory (SDRAM, DDR-RAM).
Just glance at the Full Components Lists for these systems in the [url=http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/]Sun System Handbook[/url] and review the supported memory modules.
