X4600 - mirroring HDs before installing WIndows

I've three X4600 servers that I need to build up. Unfortunately, I've fallen at the first hurdle - getting the local disks mirrored before installing Windows. I thought I'd done it - I'd synchronized the disks using the RAID Configuration utility. However, even after synchronizing, I wasn't given the option to activate the disks. So, when trying to install Windows, there was no local HD recognized.
