Why CDM can't mapped my Laptop(XP Pro) drives?

Hello all,

I have installed SGD 4.3.915 in my T2000. I read up the CDM from admin guide and followed the instructions. I have installed SGD Enhancement Module in my TS server( Win server 2003 ) and in the Dell laptop( Win XP Pro ).

I inserted my pen drive to my Dell PC and detected. From my Dell PC( WinXP Pro ), i launch firefox browser and type my sgd url. I choose browser based Webtop and also Classic Webtop and logged in successfully( Not AD integration only Unix ).

Then i launched TS application object and its successfully logged me in to TS environment. To my surprise, i still cannot see my pen drive and hard drive(Dell PC) mapped to my TS user desktop.

I also enable log for CDM and these are the logs;

From cdm/server log:

# cat cdm-server.log

2007/01/25 14:53:16.903 (pid 24626)cdm/server/info #1Sun Secure Global Desktop Software(4.3)

Started CDM server.

From cdm/audit log:

# cat cdm-audit.log

From /opt/tarantella/var/log file:

# cat cpe27066_error.log

Sun Secure Global Desktop Software(4.3) ERROR:

I would be much appreciate if somebody can help me to solve the CDM issues.

Looking forward to any respond.

Dear all,

I would like to update you with my latest troubleshooting findings.

SGD Server Hostname: sgd-01

SGD Server IP: 172.16.200.233

SGD DNS Name: sgd.esuria.com

SGD DNS IP Reply: 172.16.200.233

When i installed SGD software these are the parameters i have set:

Installation type = install 4.30.915

Installation directory = /opt/tarantella

Peer DNS name = sgd-01.esuria.com

HTTP port = 80 [not currently in use]

Archive logs every week? = yes (Sunday 03:00 hours)

From my Dell PC, i launched firefox and type url http://sgd.esuria.com and entered username and password. Then i launch Windows Application Object to login to terminal server and successfully logged in. But the client drive mapping won't work which in result i can't see my pen drive(F).

In the terminal server Event Viewer, i found this error message: " A network component has not started, or the specified name could not be handled.

("F:" "\\sgd-01.esuria.com\Drive F for demo1") ".

I believe my updated troubleshooting steps and findings can give some information to you all.

Thanks in advance.

from your windows application server, can you resolve sgd-01.esuria.com properly?

Hi Wai and thanks for your reply.

Fyi, after reading carefully the error messages from terminal server and i did the following before my lunch break.

I added sgd-01.esuria.com to my DNS entry. Then, i try again launching terminal server full desktop and i found out that my Dell PC pen drive and hard drives were successfully mapped to terminal server.

For now, it seems to solved my problem.

Any suggestions are welcome.
