Runtime Envrionment firewall problem

Hi,

I am not sure whats making the problem happen, but i know it happens when Java Runtime Environment is installed on a machine.

Basically once it is installed, it stops one of my menu's from working on my works intranet. When accessing the page a pop up box appears called 'Password Needed - Networking' with the following info / requests.

Server: intranet/IP

realm: Intranet

Scheme: digest

username:

Password:

full administrator logging in doesn't work.

I have tried lots of things including changing the script. The strange thing is that the other menu on the page works fine. I tried changing the working menu to replace the problem one but it still doesn't work. No idea if its java, java script or something else or for that matter what to do or how to solve it but i need to find away soon as my work relies on it. I had thought it might be something to do with DNS or permissions - but i have no idea, i not a huge user of java.

oh and if it makes a difference the page uses frames.

The menu has worked fine for the last few years so why it happens who knows.

any help would be great

cheers

Eccles
