recommended simulator
Hi,
I'm currently writing a toy kernel. Nothing serious, but as such, I can limit it to run on only those platforms that have special appeal to me ;). I primarily do simulator-only development (but I plan to use my experiance with the toy kernel to contribute to more serious, hardware-based projects somewhen). Little ago I came to know the opensparc project. The openness of the hardware as well as the features themselves qualify the UltraSPARC Architecture 2005 as having a "special appeal".
But now I wonder what simulator I should use. Those that I can find in the download area seem to be running only on sparc/opensolaris? I need at least an isa simulator for privileged and non-privileged code that runs on x86_64 (or x86, I'll then have to fiddle around a bit).
