Hi!I tried a long time ago. As I remember I had some problem with binding to DataBase, but probably now those problem is fixed (or maybe it was my fault), ans as I remember remote deployment didn't work.Thanks,Roman.

Hi There,

Im not sure , you may already know this, but we have a new addon on top of netbeans 5.5 called the Visual Web Pack.

This has very similar features like Creator and you can deploy apps to

Sun Java System Application Server PE 9.0 Update Release 1

You can find details at

http://www.netbeans.org/products/visualweb/

and documentation at

http://www.netbeans.org/kb/55/vwp-index.html

Hope it helps

kish,

thanks for the response. yes, i am aware of netbeans+VWP. i've used a little in our development. but my project is complete and up-and-running in JSC2U1 and its built-in app server. this forces me to install JSC2U1 on the server machine.

i was just looking for a standalone web/app server that is more up to date.

if there is no compatibility or support of App server 9 in JSC2U1, have there been any connectivity/database/compatibility issues with deploying to stand alone web server 6 or app server 8?

thanks all for your inputs.

Since you have mentioned creator and netbeans + vwp, what is the general strategy of Sun regarding these two products? We have been using creator, and we have noticed very few updates lately. should we switch to netbeans + vwp?
