ERR Authentication Failed

Hi,

When i check mail via Outlook Express, i get the error : ERR Authentication Failed.

Here are some infomation :

Mail system has 3 server. The first for SMTP, HTTP, POP and IMAP session with Multipexor installation, the second for LDAP server and mail database on the last.

Version of the first server :

iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 Patch 2 (built Jul 14 2004)

libimta.so 5.2 Patch 2 (built 19:30:12, Jul 14 2004)

SunOS FrontEndMail03 5.9 Generic_112233-12 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10

Has this ever worked.. or just stopped working?

Does the base dc=misoft,dc=com,o=internet exist in your directory server (Server-LDAP.misoft.com:10389) ? Can you see the request on the directory side (access logs)? Are you able to ldapsearch that base and get a result (as directory manager)?

Hi Shane,

The password authentication dialog continually appear even with correct password, when i click Cancel, I got error .

I've just tested on other server. On that server, i setup Multiplexor and config with the same configuration files PopProxyAService.cfg ....

Result : Check mail OK !

Where did i go wrong ?

Ok, are you sure it is EXACTLY the same? Try diff'ing the files.

No idea, it would help if you actually answered the questions that I asked. There are a million places where you could have gone wrong -- the questions are to isolate this down a bit.
