sound works on Windows, and doesn't on Linux

All the java applets play sound on Windows. While on Linux ( Ubuntu 6.10 ) ( although sound works everywhere else ) it doesn't in java applets.Has anyone had the same issue ?

JMF.But I hate to disappoint you: if an applet doesn't use JMF, installing it won't make a difference.You still didn't tell me which JVM you use.
