disabling /amconsole interface

Hi.

I have a 2005Q4 install, and want two achieve two (perhaps related) things:

1. Disable the old /amconsole GUI. Is that possible? If yes, how? I want admins to use only the /amserver/ interface.

2. I don't users to be able to log into the AM interface itself. Its fine when they access an application, but if they try to login to https://hostname:port/amconsole etc, after logging in, they shouldn't see anything, or just be logged out. Is there a way to protect AM itself, and then say create a policy denying access to authenticated users?

Thanks for the help!

Reason: I have configured authentication against another store, and dont want users getting confused that when they log into AM, and change their password, why doesn't it change. Will appreciate any other ideas regarding this. If there is a way to edit something in one of the war files so that they don't see an interface, that will be fabulous. Thanks again, and wish you a bug free year ahead! :)

I have the same question. We are also using a separate LDAP instance for authentication and when the users end up at /amconsole it only causes confusion. Any help is appreciated.
