MHP on IP Set-top box

Hi ,

I want to implement MHP on our IP set-top box(with jvm already up on our box).

Can anyone please tell where to start with,i mean what are the issues involved and what are the requirements as the MHP documentation no where says about IP Set-top box(but satellite, terrestrial and cable).

Thanks.

What you need is either GEM 1.2 or MHP 1.2. I think a draft of MHP 1.2 is available on www.mhp.org. GEM 1.2 hasn't been published yet, but should be soon.

GEM 1.2 describes the APIs and behaviors needed for interoperable applications, but it leaves the signalling details to the implementation. Thus, GEM-IPTV can be used with any network. MHP-IPTV adds to this standardized signalling, so it's suitable for a more horizontal market, where consumers buy their own player. Of course, a vertical network operator can choose to use MHP's signalling, too.

After doing a little digging around the MHP web site, there doesn't appear to be anything on MHP 1.2 available yet. It looks like we'll have to wait a little longer :(Steve.
