Key Pair Generation Failure - error message

Hi,

I receive the error message 'Key Pair Generation Failure' when attempting

to register my Ultra 60 - Solaris 10 06/06 (Patched EIS Oct 2006).

I cannot find anything on Sunsolve to suggest why it's failing.

Please email me at - craig-b@sun.com, as this is the first time I have been

in the forum arena and I'll have a hard time remembering to come back. :-)

Cheers

Craig.

Unfortunately we can't email users personally. Are you trying to register Solaris 10, or Sun Update Connection?

Thank you for the reply - I saw that I could set up a watch, which obviously works. :-)

I believe I am Registering the Update Connection?

I load up the Update Manager - The Registration Wizard automatically starts.

Click the Register to Manage Updates button.

Fill in all my details, I obtained an internal subscription key,

I have selected both the

Activate remote update manager using the Sun Update Connection AND

the Activate local update manager by sending limited data.

Click Finish

and the error appears while Storing System Information.

Cheers

Craig.

Try starting update manager in debug mode using the command below then go through the registration process as normal until it errors out. Then review the debug log (/var/tmp/output.txt) for any errors and post them here -

# /usr/bin/updatemanager -debug 2>&1 > /var/tmp/output.txt
