Opteron 170 for Ultra 20 ?

I have an Ultra 20 with an Opteron 148. As mich as I remember those had the 939 socket.QUESTION: Any know about if I just can replace that chip with for example the AMD Dual-Core model 170 ? (That guy also has 939 Socket)ThanxB-)

Hello Bernd,

the supported CPU Modules are listed in the [url=http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/Ultra20/components.html#CPUMo dule]Full Components List [/url]. Even if the Ultra 20 is based on a customized Tyan Tomcat K8E S2865 mainboard, the BIOS might not support every module. Please keep in mind that a particular Stepping (E4) is required.
