fbconfig

Hello

First porst with a really annoying problem which i can't seem to find a solution for. Here is the situation ; I've set up my resolution using fbconfig to 1280x1024, the problem is that the mentioned resolution kicks in only after x-windows and the X Login screen have loaded...

Now i am doing most of my work at the command line and have the gui disabled with the dtlogin -d command, but i am stuck with a 800x600 resolution (since x-window doesnt start) which is really uncomfortable on my 19'' LCD monitor ! Is there any way to have a 1280x1024 resolution without having to load X-windows first ? (I am working on a SunBlade 2000 with a XVR-500 which is running Solaris 10 6/06).

Before X is started, the resolution used is what has been set by openboot.

To change the resolution at the openboot OK prompt set the resolution by changing the output-device variable and then reset-all to make it take effect. e.g.:

setenv output-device screen:r1280x1024x60

If working in command line, changing the openboot screen-#columns and screen-#rows variables will change the amount of text viewable. e.g. with a 1280x1024 resolution set on Creator 3-D was able to get 48 rows by 120 columns when booted in single user mode.

Don't know if it is possible to change the font size, and therefore maximum number of rows and columns for a given resolution, from openboot.
