unltra 45 and solaris 9 9/05
hello:
we have an ultra 45 and came with ultral 10 loaded. unfortunately the application we use doesn't work with solaris 10. so we tried to load solaris 9 9/05 but failed miseribly (after "boot cdrom"):
boot: Cannot open kernel/sparcv9/unix
Enter file name [kernel/sparcv9/unix]:
any help will be greatly appreciated.

The Minimum Supported Operating Environment Version is Solaris 9/05 HW.
Solaris 9/05 (without HW) lacks the kernel support (your system cannot locate the proper kernel).
