Could not create an event? JES Comss Express + JES Cal Server

Hi all, i have come across a strange error working with JES comms express and JES calendar server (see below for the setup). I have SSO working fine and am able to successfully log into mail and calendar from comms express. However, when i try to create an event in the calendar, i get the following message:

Could not create an event.

I can, however, create a calendar event if i directly log into the calendar server.

Any ideas?
