Agent start on boot
Hi there,
Anyone have a simple script to start the SMC agent at boot time to plug into /etc/rc2.d on a Solaris 2.8/9 box? I'm sure it is pretty easy to write. I'm kind of surprised that this is not covered in the documentation. Anyone know of reasons why one would not want the agent to start at boot time?
Thanks,
Kris

SunMC automatically installs start/stop scripts: you should have these for Server and Agents:
/etc/rc3.d/S81es_agent (linked to /etc/init.d/init.es_agent)
/etc/rc3.d/S82es_server (linked to /etc/init.d/init.es_server)
It's not started in rc.2 since that's just multiuser ... rc.3 is multiuser with networking.
