ILOM console
What is the purpose of the /SP/console? When I do:
cd /SP/console
start
it asks me if I want to "Are you sure you want to start /SP/console (y/n)? y".
I hit "y" and it says "To stop, hit ESC ("
Then it just hangs. I can't type anything, and nothing else ever comes up.
The only thing I can do is hit ESC-( and get back to the SP prompt.
I must be missing something or doing something wrong but I don't understand what the /SP/console is for.

I figured it out (always happens that way...spend days struggling with something, give-in and post on a forum and find the answer a little later).
It was working on a pre-installed test box we had but not on one of our older boxes with a custom install.
Went into eeprom, and console was set to text.
Changed it to ttya and the console works perfectly now.
I guess it's a really stupid mistake, but I'm still fairly new to Sun hardware, *nix and Solaris 10 in particular.

I'm very confused again.
Once again, start /SP/console simply asks me if I want to start a console then hangs and does nothing.
Is there something I need to configure so that this always works?
It's almost of no use to me. If it's working, I can just ssh into the box anyways. If it's not working, I'd have to sit in front of the machine and fix it which is no different than not having it.
I know I must be missing something, but all of the documents and manuals say that "start /SP/console" will fire up the console.
