how to format 250Gb IDE disk

I'm using Sun Ultra 5/10.I'm trying to add new 250 Gb IDE hard disk. But all I can do is format 127Gb. So, I realized there is LBA limitation. Is it possible to break this threshold?

No.

There's no workaround.Not for IDE.

If you need considerable storage capacity, then go for external SCSI.

Those computers are vintage 1997-1998 hardware designs.

The onboard IDE chipsets do not "do" 48bit LBA.

There aren't any PeeCee PCI cards that would be recognized

by the systemboard firmware.
