Need replacement copy of SO8 MSI!

Maybe the community can help me!?

I did not purchase download insurance, and now need the install file. I don't know why - SO8 pops a dialog box like I made a new profile or something. It won't open until I provide the install MSI. The update 4 MSI won't do. So my SO8 installation is suddenly non-functional! My original install file is corrupted on a bad HD.

Sun tech is usually responsive, but this is apparently in DigRiver purvue or something. Am hearing crickets from that direction.

I have a FTP server to make this easier. More offline if you are willing.

If I cannot get a second copy of my SO8 install, I will have to remove SO8 and install OOo which I can quickly and easily get install files for.

I hope I explained my situation - I just need a copy of the file I bought in Jan. I still have my receipt, license, unlock key. :)

StarOffice8 - Windows - English

Cheers!

John,

If you still have your licence key go and download the trial version of SO from

http://www.sun.com/software/star/staroffice/get.jsp

Once you have installed it under the TRAIL licence, go in and add your full user key, this should then keep you going.

Cheers

Doozer you are the man.

I had to uninstall SO8 and Product update 4. Then I re-installed from the Trial Version installer.

When I opened writer my custom document template opened as default (just as before), and the serial number was picked automatically from the previous registry key(?). So I did not even have to re-enter my key.

It is all better now. Thanks for the idea! And kudos to the SO coders for keeping such a clean separation of code and config. You all saved my butt.

Cheers,

JF
