SO8 will not launch

I am running Windows XP Professional. Up until yesterday SO8 ran without issues. Now, when opening Writer, the splash screen appears, dissappears, and then nothing. The package does not launch. I have removed the StarOffice Application Data directory and went through the registration process again, but it still does not launch. Trying to open an existing document shows the same results. Any ideas?

Hi there.I had the same problem and some one else mentioned it recently. I told them that my probs. ended with update 2 (we are now on number 4). Are you up to date?Rgds Paul.

A little late on the reply, but ... patching fixed the problem for a while. Then, SO8 just quit working altogether. Re-installed OS from image, and re-applied patches. Seems to be working again.
